Jordan Santana is an American skateboarder born in Houston, Texas on December 12, 2003. She was first introduced to skateboarding at the age of 5 when she met legendary skateboarder Christian Hosoi. She never imagined the impact that meeting would have on her. Years later, Hosoi Skateboards became her first major sponsor and she became the first female to ride for Team Hosoi.

As she grew, so did her skating skills. She began to compete at local and state levels and her desire to challenge herself increased. Her first out of state competition; the 2015 Exposure All-Women’s Event; took place in Encinitas, California, and drew competitors from around the nation. It was at this event, that Jordan found a community of other girl skateboarders, who much like herself, enjoyed skating and were fierce at it.

She went on to compete and placed in competitions around the nation, until, the Summer of 2018, when, Jordan suffered a setback. She broke her leg while training for an upcoming competition and would spend the rest of the year working toward a full recovery. Soon after, Jordan made a comeback and placed 1st in her division (15+) at the Vans Girl’s Combi Bowl Classic.

Jordan competed at the 2019 World Championships in Brazil, a qualifying event for the 2020 US Olympics. She placed 2nd, securing her a position on the 2020 USA Skateboarding Women’s Park National Team. During the pandemic, Jordan continued to train and used this time to learn and perfect the 540 McTwist, a trick only a handful of girls in the world have attempted. After months of shutdown, she was excited to return to the competition. In May 2021, Jordan competed in the USA National Championships, where she placed 2nd, having successfully landed her “McTwist”.

That same summer, Jordan was invited to compete at ESPN’s 2021 X Games (CA Training facility, Vista, California). It was her first time competing at the X Games and she finished 5th in the overall ranking. Most recently, Jordan competed in the finals of Tony Hawk’s “Vert Alert”. This event took place on August 26-28, 2021 at the Utah State Fairpark in Salt Lake City.

She was a member of the USA Skateboarding National Team (2020-2022) and is currently competing in qualifiers for a spot on the 2024 Olympic team. With the 2021 Tokyo Olympic introduction of skateboarding and the resurgence of popularity of vert skating, Jordan is excited about the future of the sport and her continued involvement in skate culture and its community. As she continues to prepare for the upcoming 2024 Olympic qualifiers, Jordan looks forward to sharing her love and passion for skateboarding with others.
